Letter to Wal-mart - Sugar Lake Farms
04/19/03

I recently purchased Sugar Lake Farms - Fully-Cooked Chicken Nuggets - Breaded Chicken Patties - from your store in Durango, CO.
A couple days later, my wife and I opened the package and placed a dozen and a half "nuggets" on a cookie sheet; then slid them into our preheated oven. Everything seemed normal enough, so we set the timer and waited.
Before to long, the buzzer sounded and we put the little patties unsuspectingly on plates and squirted ketchup along side them before we convened to the dining room to enjoy our modest feast. I dipped a couple in the condiment and popped 'em in my mouth right away. I chewed, swallowed, and then bit into a third when I realized that, although the outside of the breaded portions were golden-brown and delicious looking, the insides were filled with … with …BLACK, GOOEY STUFF?

AAAAAH! WHAT THE!!!?

This was WRONG!!!

Sugar Lake Farms - Fully-Cooked Chicken Nuggets - Breaded Chicken PattiesI felt, at that moment, as though I had just woken from a daze to find that I was getting on the "off ramp" of an interstate highway.
I quickly spit the remaining stuff (chicken?) out into the trash receptacle and frantically rinsed my mouth as best as I could! Afterward, I was shaken and frightened about what I may have ingested moments before.

Now I want answers!!!

Who are these "Sugar Lake Farms" and what is going into this product?
Still, to this day, I am haunted by thoughts that I can taste or smell this so-called "food" from Sugar Lake Farms. And I'm sure that, when all is said and done, the horror of this incident may end up being significant in my life!

Still in shock,

David Stroud
